2011 Video Music Awards

Katy Perry takes 3 of an extraordinary 9 VMA nominations, with 2 of the awards going to "E.T. ft. Kanye West" - Directed by Floria Sigismondi.

VMA royalty's pop singer Katy Perry won BEST COLLABORATION and BEST SPECIAL EFFECTS for sci-fi inspired video "E.T." which features Kanye West, (directed by Floria Sigismondi, special effects by Jeff Dotson) at Sunday night's MTV Video Music Awards. Perry also took home VIDEO OF THE YEAR for "Fireworks".

An alien Perry is transformed in illuminating sequences as West is encapsulated by a futuristic space craft."
Perry and West waltzed onstage to accept their Moonman together. Perry thanked "E.T." director, Floria Sigismondi, as well as the pair's fans for granting them the Moonman. Yeezy, who had performed "Otis" with Jay-Z moments earlier, then gave his own obligatory shout-outs. "Thank you to God, Katy Perry for being so brave to let me back on the record, MTV and shout-out to Busta, Chris Brown and Wayne for having that joint right there. I love y'all, and Katy Perry, thank you so much," he said. Perry's music video "E.T." topped videos from Chris Brown ("Look at Me Now"), Kanye West ("All of the Lights"), Pitbull ("Give Me Everything") and Nicki Minaj ("Moment 4 Life"). Perry topped all VMA nominees with nine nods this year for "E.T.," "Last Friday Night (T.G.I.F.)," "Teenage Dream" and "Firework." - MTV.COM
